Alex picked me up at 3 am for a ride to the Athens airport.We scheduled the taxi pick up appointment the day before via text messaging, which was great because of international call costs. He speaks great English. He arrived 10 minutes early. He was awake and alert. He was friendly, positive, and helpful. His cab was comfortable and very clean. Having arrived at the airport and knowing that check in at our hotel was 2 p.m., I arranged with athenstaxiwagon.com to be picked up and have a morning tour before dropping us at our hotel. Alex, our driver, was wonderful and his Mercedes station wagon fit the 2 couples' 4 suitcases and carry ons easily. We had a lovely drive to Sunion where we enjoyed coffee, blue sky, and the Temple of Posideon. A coastline drive delivered us to our hotel on time after this wonderful interlude and introduction to Athens. The reverse was true when Alex fetched us at the end of our stay. We stopped at the Corinthian Canal, toured Corinth and Acrocorinth castle and visited the Museum before having lunch. Alex delivered us to our ship in Piraeus in good time.
